About me
I am a creative and passionate person, who brings an empathic, calm and non-judgemental approach to coaching.
I am a professionally qualified coach, with over 10 years of coaching experience in roles across a broad range of settings, including higher education, public health and careers.
I hold a Level 5 Professional Coaching Qualification and a Certificate in Executive Function Coaching.
I am accredited by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), whose code of ethics I abide by.
A skilled behaviour change practitioner, with experience of working in drug and alcohol harm reduction, smoking cessation and community health improvement.
Alongside my private coaching practice, I am an Associate Executive Function and ADHD Coach with Connections in Mind.
I am dyslexic, so bring a unique blend of professional expertise and personal insight to my coaching with neurodivergent people. As a neurodivergent person myself, I’m especially attuned to the creative, intuitive and non-linear ways neurodivergent minds can work. I believe coaching should celebrate those strengths rather than attempt to ‘fix’ or suppress them.
I have a background in community arts, graduating from a Masters in Inclusive Arts Practice in 2014. This two year course equipped me with the necessary skills to initiate and manage truly inclusive arts projects with diverse and marginalised groups.
I co-founded the charity Artspace Brighton, which I ran for 6 years, from 2013 - 2019. Artspace provides an art studio to people experiencing mental health issues and is still successfully operating. This experience sparked my dedication to creating supportive and inclusive spaces where people can explore and express themselves.
Professional Experience
-
2025 - current.
At the start of 2025 I completed my Executive Function Coach Training with Connections in Mind (CiM), and joined their team as an Associate Executive Function and ADHD Coach.
In this freelance role I offer personalised coaching to CiM clients, harnessing each person’s unique strengths and supporting them to develop strategies for challenges like focus, organisation and emotional regulation.
-
2023 - 2025
For 2 years, I co-chaired the trustee board of Art in Motion (AIM), an organisation that creates opportunities for artists with learning disabilities.
AIM are based at Spike Island, where they have a dedicated studio space for their artists. They also partner with Arnolfini to host their weekly Art School sessions, as well as a range of other artist-focused events throughout the year.
AIM additionally facilitate a monthly Neurodivergent Artists Network, known as NAIM.
-
2024 - 2025.
As a Student Wellbeing Advisor at The University of Bristol, I was responsible for supporting students struggling with their mental health, wellbeing and personal circumstances. This meant offering a safe, calm and trauma-informed space for students to share openly, before collaboratively problem solving and providing coaching around their options.
During my time at the university I became adept at supporting students to develop strategies across a range of wellbeing themes, such as emotional regulation, perfectionism, sleep, low-self esteem, stress, anxiety and depression.
I had the privilege of holding many neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ students on my caseload, who I supported in an inclusive and affirming way.
I left my Student Wellbeing Advisor role after just over a year, to focus solely on my private and freelance coaching practice.
-
2021 - 2024.
I joined Bristol City Council’s WE Work for Everyone service in 2021, where I spent three years in a team supporting neurodivergent people, and people with learning disabilities, into paid work and vocational training.
As an Employment Navigator, I worked closely with a broad range of clients, from young college leavers seeking apprenticeship opportunities to older people who'd been out of work for some time, looking to find the best fit role and workplace for them. Here, I expanded my knowledge of neurodiversity and gained a better understanding of processes such as job coaching and making reasonable adjustments in the workplace.
After nearly two years as an Employment Navigator, I stepped-up into the role of Project Officer within the team. Here, I took on extra responsibilities and worked closely alongside the Project Manager, delivering specific administration around operations. I also provided vital support to the project by being responsible for the monthly, one-to-one supervision of our team of Employment Navigators.
During my time at Bristol City Council, I completed a 15-month long, Level 5 Professional Coaching Apprenticeship.
-
2019 - 2021.
After moving to Bristol in 2019, I worked for almost two years as a Substance Misuse Liaison Worker at Bristol Drugs Project (BDP). Based in GP surgeries in the heart of central and east Bristol communities, I supported people addicted to opiates to move positively through drug treatment and recovery.
I used a non-judgemental and compassionate coaching approach to meet my clients where they were at with their drug use, creating personalised plans so that they could move forward in a way that felt right for them. In this role, I learnt a great deal about addiction and developed skills in solution-focused coaching and trauma informed practice.
-
2015 - 2019.
In 2015, I started my first coaching role, as a Community Health Trainer for Brighton and Hove City Council’s Healthy Lifestyles Team. For close to four years, I supported people to make the lifestyle changes that mattered most to them, such as increasing their physical activity, eating more healthily, reducing their alcohol intake, or stopping smoking. In this role, I was trained in the use of accredited behaviour change tools and Motivational Interviewing, an approach with its roots in counselling that elicits people's capacity for growth.
I became senior in this role in 2017, which meant taking on the training of new staff and the delivery of specialist health promotion projects, alongside my one-to-one client work.
My time as a Community Health Trainer shaped my collaborative, person-centred approach to supporting people through the process of change.
-
2013 - 2019.
In 2013, I co-founded the charity Artspace Brighton, which I ran for 6 years alongside my other employment.
Artspace offers an art studio to people experiencing mental health issues and continues to successfully operate under new leadership.
The studio was born from a desire to fill a gap in art provision for people with mental health issues in Brighton and Hove. Whilst studying a Masters in Inclusive Arts Practice, I co-created a supportive, community-based studio where people could explore their creativity, develop an art practice and build a sense of purpose and belonging.
My responsibilities over that time were varied, including facilitating at the studio, organising gallery trips and exhibitions, managing a team of volunteers in various roles, co-ordinating incoming referrals and planning and implementing our yearly fundraising strategy.
